The development of a set of technological solutions for drilling waste management is relevant both from the point of view of improving the environmental situation in the areas of drilling operations and in terms of reducing the costs of subsoil users. The authors of the article analyze currently existing and promising methods for the disposal of various types of drilling waste - waste drilling fluids, drilling cuttings, drilling wastewater - as well as a proposed set of technological solutions to reduce the volumes of this type of waste generation. Comparative data are given on the design and actual volumes of generation of various types of waste during well construction. It is shown that one of the factors that can be considered as a reserve for reducing the cost of well construction is the reduction of excess volumes of drilling waste generation, including those that are formed due to change of the principles for calculating the planned volumes of formation of drilled cuttings and drilling wastewater, realizing the possibility of reusing waste drilling solutions on several sequentially drilled wells.
