Annotation:

The analysis of the deposits geological conditions of the Timan-Pechora oil- and gas-bearing province allowed revealing an increased content of hydrogen sulfide concentrated in highly permeable deposits. Construction of wells in such conditions is accompanied by the occurrence of associated complications, such as hydrogen sulfide aggression, losses, differential sticking and manifestations. Therefore, research and development of process fluids formulations for high-quality and trouble-free drilling and cementing of highly permeable rocks containing hydrogen sulfide is an urgent task when constructing wells. The article presents the results of the conducted studies that made it possible to develop high-alkaline drilling process fluids (drilling flushing and grouting solutions, clogging and combined buffer fluids) that provide high-quality and trouble-free drilling and cementing of highly permeable deposits containing hydrogen sulfide. The use of high-alkaline process fluids due to calcium oxide treatment makes it possible to effectively neutralize biogenic and natural hydrogen sulfide in reservoir conditions by the medium alkalinity and qualitatively clog permeable deposits by the products of the reaction of H2S with Ca(OH)2, which is confirmed by field experiments at the fields of Timan-Pechora oil- and gas-bearing province.
