Annotation:

A technique has been developed for conducting experimental studies on high-pressure installations to determine the filtrate return of three-phase foams when interacting with a porous medium of rock samples (cores). On the basis of experimental studies of the interaction of three-phase foam with the porous medium of artificial sandstone cores, the characteristic features of the filtrate return of three-phase foams during interaction with cores of sandy rocks at various pressures are shown. Regularities were established for the penetration of foaming liquids from three-phase foams into cemented rocks and cores of non-cemented sandstone of various permeability. Filtration of the three-phase foam into the non-cemented sandstone core occurred abruptly with a drop in overpressure. The studies have proved the fact that the impact of three-phase foam, in contrast to the foaming liquid, preserves the permeability of the core more and, accordingly, will cause less swelling of the reservoirclay material. The conditions for the effective use of three-phase foams for drilling and repair of oil and gas wells are determined.
