Annotation:

The procedure for solving problems of choosing a rational type of a hydraulic downhole drilling motor (DDM) for drilling is given. Two groups of parameters have been defined when choosing a hydraulic downhole drilling motor: technical and energy. The former ones determine the design features of the downhole motor and are selected mainly for the purpose of ensuring the wellbore effective placement along the given trajectory, the latter ones determine the drilling mode and are selected in order to provide the effective operation of the DDM and the drill bit when deepening the well. The criterion for the DDM correct choice is the adequacy of its technical and energy parameters to the standard size of the bit and the parameters of the drilling mode.
