Annotation:

The features of the motorized rotary drilling technology based on the combined use of a rotary controlled system and a screw downhole motor are considered. The advantages and disadvantages of this technology are discussed. It is shown that the use of a motorized rotary steerable system equipped by a screw motor provides an increase of the mechanical penetration rate and an improvement of the technical-economic indicators of drilling due to by increasing the bit rotation frequency increase. The results of experimental studies of the drill string vibrations are presented. It is shown that the vibration level decreases when drilling a well using a motorized rotary steerable system, which can be explained by the decrease of Stick-Slip effect influence. Speed control of the top power drive of the drilling rig when drilling with the help of a motorized rotary steerable system makes it possible to compensate for the wear of the screw motor, to provide a close to constant bit rotation speed and increase the average ROP.
