Annotation:

One of the most common types of equipment in the oil producing industry is downhole sucker-rod pumping units. The drive of a submersible sucker-rod pump is beam pumping units (BPU), which were subjected to technical condition survey by specialists of LLC "Interprom" for more than 10 years. During this time, more than 1000 beam pumping units were examined, about 5000 defects and malfunctions were identified in various elements of the BPU. The article presents the results of the analysis of the collected statistics in order to identify the main trends and predispositions to certain types of defects. The results of the analysis prove the fact that the largest number of malfunctions and defects revealed during the examination of the industrial safety of beam pumping units falls on the equipment manufactured in the period from 1981 to 1990. The most common types of defects and malfunctions are cracks, disconnections and breaks of metal structures, wear of the wellhead rod suspension ropes, oil leaks in the gearbox, cracks and chips of brake drums, seizure of the connecting rod against the traverse, asymmetry with the axis of the well, destruction of the foundation, deformation, breaks or lack of ladders/maintenance platforms, loosening of bolted connections.
