Hydrogen-sulfide aggression as one of the problematic geological factors complicating exploration and development of gas condensate fields by deep wells in the Southern Uzbekistan

Annotation:
Drilling operations in gas condensate fields in Southern Uzbekistan are associated with a number of difficulties. They are abnormally high reservoir pressure, hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide aggression, drilling of salt and anhydrite strata. One of the most important tasks in such difficult mining and geological conditions is the preservation of the rheological parameters of the drilling fluid when opening a productive reservoir by drilling wells of more than 4000 m deep in the presence of hydrogen sulfide with a content of up to 6–7 % (for example, the "Surkhandarya Expedition" well in the "Gadzhak" project in Baysun region). The work analyzes, identifies and compiles a list of industrially available chemical compounds suitable for struggling with hydrogen sulfide aggression when constructing oil and gas wells. The negative factors that arise in the environment and, specially, in the borehole, in case of aggressive gas manifestations were studied. Schemes of hydrogen sulfide chemical reactions are given, with the help of which its neutralization is possible. It has been shown that the Russian range of hydrogen sulfide neutralizers covers almost all classes of inorganic substances (metals, their oxides and salts, metal chelate compounds) and a significant range of organic compounds, including derivatives of alkyl- and arylsulfonic acids [1–9]. A list of technical information sources has been compiled containing specific information on methods for eliminating complications that arise when opening geological formations saturated with hydrogen sulfide [14–18, 20, 22].
