Annotation:

The article presents the results of a study of a new design of a drill bit roller cutter with offset axes of rotation of the cones relative to the bit rotation axis. Based on the performed analysis of the wear of drill bits roller cutters with displaced axes of drill bits roller cutters rotation, it was revealed that its main reason is the incomplete conformity of the drill bits roller cutters geometry to the conditions of their interaction with the borehole wall. The analysis of the existing problem solutions showed their insufficient effectiveness in terms of ensuring the most complete and long-term contact of the calibrating drill bit roller cutter with the borehole wall. Based on the analysis carried out as well as previously conducted theoretical studies, the article proposes a new drill bit roller cutter design for the drill bits with offset axes of rotation. The proposed design differs by the geometric characteristics of the calibrating drill bit roller cutter cone, made in the form of a fourth-order curve. In addition, to implement such a surface in practice, it is proposed to perform milled cutting structures with tungsten carbide surfacing to increase wear resistance.
