Annotation:

The article proves the fact that there are significant differences in the kinematics of rock-breaking rock-cutting tools of rolling cutter drill bits with positively and negatively offset axes of rotation. In order to study these differences, theoretical studies of each of the displacement cases were carried out. To conduct the research, a mathematical model of the rolling cutter drill bit movement was developed, which makes it possible to calculate the trajectories of movement of any points of the rock-cutting tools of the rolling cutter drill bit during their movement along the bore-hole bottom. It was revealed that the geometry of the teeth of the bits peripheral crowns, equipped by rolling cutter drill bits displaced in the negative direction relative to the tool rotation axis, is not optimal and requires correction in order to correspond to the cutting tools interaction with the rock being destroyed. At the same time, it is possible to equip drill bits by rolling cutters with a negative parallel displacement relative to the tool rotation axis only if the design of their support units is changed so that the support design can perceive significantly greater "pulling" axial forces directed towards the center of the bit. The conducted studies allowed to establish that, despite significant progress in the development and creation of various types of roller-cone drilling tools, there are still significant reserves for its further improvement, associated with a more complete and accurate consideration of the kinematic features of the actuators of the roller-cone drilling tools.
