Annotation:

To eliminate open fountains when constructing oil and gas wells on the shelf, various technical methods are used, among which one of the radical ones is a relief well drilling. The article presents the calculation of the minimum safe distance between the starting point of a relief well laying from the mouth of an emergency well, based on the radius of the buoyancy loss zone when using a semi-submersible floating drilling rig with an anchor positioning system.
