Annotation:

When the plunger moves down, the local hydraulic resistance in the injection system causes the occurrence of a hydraulic force directed from the bottom up, which prevents the free fall of the plunger in the cylinder and causes bending of the bottom of the sucker rod strings. As a result, the plunger occupies an eccentric position in the cylinder and is pressed against it, the fall of the plunger lags from the beam-pumping unit balancer head and the alignment of the stem-discharge valve-plunger connection is disturbed. These complications cause increased wear of the plunger-cylinder pair, breakage of the discharge valve cage, breakage of the sucker rod strings, loss of the plunger stroke, etc. The article provides calculations that allow determination of the force acting from the bottom up, and the corresponding value of the bottom weight of the sucker rod string in order to ensure the normal functioning of the downhole pump.
