Annotation:

Due to the presence of geometric concentrators that increase residual stresses, welded structures under variable loads have low strength. Fatigue failure always begins at stress concentration points. By now, the problem of fatigue crack growth in main gas and oil pipeline systems has not been sufficiently studied either on real structures or even on elements of these structures. The article presents experimental studies of the growth rate of fatigue cracks in steel pipelines in field gathering systems and in gas and oil trunk pipeline systems. Optimal methods for testing special laboratory metal samples are presented to determine the characteristics of the cyclic crack resistance of the base material and metal of welded joints. Comparative diagrams of cracks growth according to the working documentation and according to the Paris equation are presented. Manufacturing rules and methods for testing samples are proposed.
