Annotation:
Despite the fact that oil and gas production in the Russian Federation is extensive and diverse [1], in recent decades there has been a rapid depletion of traditional reserves of the main developed fields in the Volga region, the Urals, and Western Siberia, due to which the development of deposits with super-viscous oils and natural bitumen, the reserves of which are significant and, according to various estimates, exceed the reserves of conventional oils by 2,5–3 times, is becoming important. In the near future, the reserves of such hydrocarbons will only increase due to the discovery of new fields in the Arctic zones of the Far East and the Eastern Siberia. Such fields development, to achieve acceptable values of the extraction factor, requires the latest thermal methods, the efficiency of which is superior to traditional thermal steam treatment (TST) technologies. One of such methods is steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) [2–4]. The authors of the article consider the main indicators for analyzing [5] the efficiency of this method and the feasibility of its use. A generalized scheme of the process control system functioning for intensifying oil production is given [6].
