Annotation:

The article considers one of the key aspects of accident-free well drilling, namely monitoring of the drillstring operation. At the moment, the percentage of accidents caused by the breakdown of the drill string and its elements during wells drilling is still high. The article enumerates the main problems associated with the malfunction of the drill pipe slips, which can lead to drilling incidents, such as, for example, that occurred at the well of the Verkhne-Vetlyanskoye field in the Samara region. The Slip test procedure is necessary to prevent the formation of microcracks on the drill string, the occurrence of which can lead to drill stringsflushing, followed by an incident.
