Analysis of the actual load-bearing capacity of tanks’ aluminum dome roofs at well collection points, commodity and tank farms under snow load and options for reducing it

Annotation:

The article highlights the main problems that arise during the winter time at well collection points and commodity parks when storing well products in vertical steel tanks with aluminum dome roofs. First of all, they include the accumulation of snow and ice on the surfaces of tank roofs, leading to a number of serious complications such as weight increase, roof damage, corrosion, etc. The results of assessing and monitoring their technical state, emerging loads and processes are considered, and recommendations for limiting snow loads on the roof are proposed. Based on the results of the analysis, various options of technical solutions to reduce the snow load on the roof of tanks are proposed for consideration.
