Drill bits operation dynamic coefficient as a factor, limiting the area of their application

Annotation:

The relevance of the study is caused by the necessity of clarifying the choice of rock cutting tools in case of information in sufficiency about its operating conditions. The nature of PDC bits dynamic operation has been revealed. Bench drilling by using roller-cutter drill bits and PDC bits proved the fact that the dependence of the bit operation dynamic coefficient on the penetration per its single revolution (the intensity of rock destruction) is significant and close to hyperbolic one. It is proposed to use rock destruction intensity and the dynamic coefficient to quickly check the compliance of the types of bits used with the drilled rock during the drilling process in terms of the minimum intensity values and the normalized maximum value of the dynamic coefficient.
