Annotation:

The authors of the article discuss a method for predicting the formation of sand plugs when operating oil and gas wells, based on measuring the sand content per unit of production during well testing and the results of sieve analysis of core samples taken from the productive interval. As a result of the research, based on the analysis of the sieve distribution curve of the productive formation particles, a method has been proposed for predicting the formation of sand plugs in the production wellbores, which will allow producing companies to decide on a well restoration strategy and choose an economically acceptable method of preventing and combating sand plugs formation. These studies make it possible to estimate the rate of a sand plug formation in the wellbore, thus choosing the method of combating sand production during wells operation. As the next stage of research, it is recommended to conduct a field test of the proposed method at one of the production facilities of oil and gas producing enterprises.
