Annotation:
Achieving qualitative and quantitative indicators of core sampled using insulating technology is determined by the technical-technological characteristics of the equipment used, drilling fluid parameters, drilling modes, etc. The most important component of insulating technology is core insulating liquid. Various isolating agents currently used by a number of service companies are comparatively assessed. The causes of incomplete filling of the core collection pipe by core insulating liquid (CIL), its premature emptying and incomplete core coverage by insulating agent, which affect the quality of the sampled core material, are considered and revealed. The use of “CorIsoGel”core-isolating fluid, due to its high viscosity and thixotropy, allows minimizing these factors manifestations. The recommended size of the gap between the core being formed and the inner diameter of the core receiving pipe is substantiated, depending on the sampling depth, predictive information on the physical-mechanical properties and reservoir properties of the core, taking into account the structural characteristics of core insulating liquid (CIL).
