Annotation:
The use of high-torque screw downhole motors with high penetration and relatively low shaft speed is by far the most effective method for drilling wells. Screw downhole motors (SDM) allow realizing the advantages of bits, but at the same time, even minor changes of drilling parameters, such as geological conditions, drilling modes, lead to a change in torque and the engine position due to high torque. All these factors cause the wellbore tortuosity during drilling. To eliminate such unnecessary tortuosity, even when drilling vertical wells and wellbores vertical sections, not mentioning inclined sections and sections of increasing and decreasing angles, whipstocks based on SDM are used. The mechanism for increasing a wellbore curvature using a whipstock based on a SDM is discusses by the author of the article. Based on the sine theorem, a mathematical model of the operation of such a deflector is presented. Possible options for the operation of the diverter are considered. Options have been proposed to reduce the wellbore tortuosity during drilling.
