Lubrication is the key to success of drilling efficiency increase

Annotation:

One of the main aspects affecting drilling productivity is reducing the torque and axial resistance of a drill string. Effective reduction of these parameters can significantly increase the drilling speed and provide more stable operating conditions of equipment. The authors of the article overview the existing developments and practical applications of lubricating additives in drilling fluids as well as identify their potential for optimizing wells drilling. The technological method application allows identifying the strategic importance ofimplementing the maximum drilling mode algorithm. The correlation between the rate of penetration and the lubricity of the drilling fluid at a qualitative level has been observed for many years. The penetration increases ratesdue to their lubricity were large enough to significantly reduce drilling costs. That’s why, this aspect should be considered despite the fact that the technology of this parameter cannot be carefully reflected in the documentation.
