Annotation:

Wells drilling and operation in permafrost conditions (PC) are associated with a number of specific complications caused by the presence of relict (metastable) gas hydrates in the section. These complications can lead to serious accidents, such as casing strings collapse and failure, formation of gas gryphons and failures, loss of wellbore stability, plugging of wellhead equipment and killing lines, destruction of the cement ring, formation of hydrate plugs in pipes, freezing and sticking of the drill pipe string, reduction of formation permeability and deterioration of drilling mud properties. In this regard, an urgent task is to develop measures to prevent and eliminate complications associated with the presence of gas hydrates during drilling and operation of wells in permafrost conditions. Drilling and operation of wells in permafrost conditions taking into account gas hydrates availability require an integrated approach, including both theoretical research and the development of practical methods.
