The authors of the article describe the developed of technical means aimed at increasing the efficiency of production well equipment of underground natural gas storage facilities. It is known that absence of filters when pumping gas into an underground storage facility (UGS) can cause clogging of cracks by mechanical impurities and scale. It occurs due to the fact that gas is pumped into a limited area – in the area of perforation holes. The gas flow, passing at an increased speed through the gaps between the turns of the winding wire, destroys the formed natural gravel packing. As a result, when switching to the gas pumping mode from the UGS, the filtration conditions of mechanical particles from the flow worsen, in addition, problems arise with the formation of sand and clay plugs in the wellbore, and behind-the-casing water flows are observed. Thus, the presence of filters when pumping gas into the UGS is important for the normal operation of the storage facility and the prevention of possible problems. The authors of the article discuss the use of borehole filters that provide: the ability to retain mechanical particles both when pumping gas into the UGS and when selecting; maintaining an optimal pressure drop on the winding wire turns in the event of colmatation of the screw gap; preventing the process of clogging the gap of both the internal and external filter shell.
