Annotation:

One of the methods to improve the quality of plugging and reducing the risk of water flow and inter-casing pressures in a well is to use foam plastics that increase their volume during polymerization. Their use allows the following: compensation of the plugging slurry contraction, creation of a tight contact between the cement ring and the rock, significant improvement of the TS adhesion to the borehole walls and the metal of the casing. Expandable foam plastics, which, when interacting with the hardener increase in volume many times, provide additional pressure for penetration into the channels of fractured rocks and, depending on the degree of aeration, reduce the consumption of materials for creating an insulating bridge. The author of the article presents the compositions and technology of application of foams that harden and expand in volume during polymerization, forming cement stone with high adhesive properties and strength characteristics. Their application is effective when isolating behind-hardening flows in zones of intensive absorption and increasing well support in intervals of fractured and unstable rocks.
