Annotation:

The technology of water purification from oil products by means of open porous granules based on mineral sedimentary opale-cristobalite rock endowed with high porosity owing to the presence of large amount of nano-measured pores, which allows for creating on granules surface a shell of water held in the pores during the filtering process is suggested. The water shell provides an effective and non-disrupting regeneration of granules by means of backwashing in fluidized state, which is done in the mode enabling the quality granules cleaning without destruction thereof. For primary entrapping and retention of crude oil drops on the surface of granules, in composition thereof some particles of a non-porous material with high adhesion to the oil products are introduced. These particles create oleophilic areas on the surface of granules where only small oil droplets are retained. During the filtering process the larger drops are adjoining to them due to the coalescence, creating larger drops and further – interconnected oil bundles "clamped" between the granules. This leads to the formation of a multi-phase structure effectively entrapping the tiniest oil drops. The effectiveness of the suggested technology was confirmed by the data obtained from the pilot researches as well as by implemented projects at industrial facilities in Russia and abroad.
