Annotation:
The paper analyzes the existing and promising methods of marking oil and gas pipe products in order to improve the quality of product identification, as well as their tracking from manufacture to installation, operation and repair work. The main advantages and disadvantages of markings are shown, the key functional requirements for them are given and an attempt is made to mark them. It is noted that the most promising are the electronic labeling methods that require improvement, comprehensive research and pilot testing.
