Annotation:

The safety of oil industry facilities is one of the most important tasks in the field of the fuel and energy complex of Russia. As a result, researches aimed at prolonging the operational life-time of oil pipelines are of high priority. But in order to expand the fuel and energy complex of Russia towards the Arctic regions, it is necessary to revise the technologies of liquid hydrocarbons transportation. At present, most oil and gas producing companies operating in the North of Russia use pipes manufactured of structural high-alloy steels. However, this approach is not always justified from an economic point of view, since transportation costs, preservation of materials, welding and installation work and further operation of pipelines often go beyond the payback of the project. The authors of the article propose an alternative to steel pipes – combined reinforced polypropylene insulated pipes. The authors of the article comparatively analyze the pipes made of alloyed structural steels with a combined reinforced polypropylene insulated pipe; the construction of a combined reinforced polypropylene insulated pipe is put up for discussion.
