Annotation:

The number of plans and projects for the economy de-carbonization is growing all over the world. If in the 20th century the main driver of hydrogen technologies was their economic competitiveness compared to rising in price of hydrocarbons, then today the obligations of states, individual regions, companies and their associations to combat global climate change come to the fore. The use of hydrogen as a fuel is a necessary element for realizing these obligations. The article discusses the main types of hydrogen, depending on the method of its production. The method of underground gasification of coal seams is considered in more detail. The performance as well as possible economic effect of this method was calculated. The site for trial testing of the technology was chosen by Gazprom Dobycha Kuznetsk LLC, which implements the technology for producing methane from coal seams and also has wells drilled in a coal seam in its fund.
