Annotation:

Reliability is one of the most important operational properties of gas compressor units (GCU), which has a significant impact on the efficiency of the natural gas compression process. The existing approaches to determining the reliability indicators of gas compressor units refer to the period of time, defined as their assigned service life. The article is devoted to the issues of assessing the reliability of gas turbine GCU that are working at compressor stations of the gas transmission system of the Russian Federation, but have already reached their assigned operational life-time. The authors considered the reliability indicators of gas pumping units on the example of a compressor station in the southern region of Russia. The experience of carrying out capital repairs of GCU is analyzed. It is shown that their repair fails to completely restore all operational characteristics of gas compressor units (primarily, rated power and efficiency), thus bringing an increase of failures. The authors present a reasonable approach for determining the reliability indicators of GCU, which is advisable to be applied when assessing the efficiency of units that have worked out their operational life-time, but are left in operation. The article contains calculated ratios that reflect the universal applicability of this approach.
