Annotation:

The geological resources of tight oil reservoirs are more than twice exceed the conventional oil geological resources. Huge resources of this type of unconventional hydrocarbons were found in the USA, Russia, China, Libya, UAE, Pakistan and Nigeria. The existing technologies make it possible to effectively develop tight oil deposits. One of the main differences between tight oil production and conventional one is a very high rate of debit decline, amounting to several percent per month. Maintaining the oil production level requires drilling new wells, thus causing a significant increase of oil production cost. The life cycle of such projects lasts approximately 5…7 years. The main oil production from tight reservoirs is carried out in the USA. In recent years, a number of projects have also been developed in Argentina and Canada. In other countries, the development of these resources is in its infancy. In the short term, it is difficult to expect a "shale boom" in these countries.
