Modeling of the air evaporative cooling by water injection in front of the heat exchange sections

Annotation:

The article is devoted to the issue of the possibility of increasing the efficiency of air coolers operation in hot weather by means of preliminary evaporative cooling of the air entering the heat exchange sections. A mathematical model of the motion of a two-phase air-droplet flow with tracking its parameters changes due to a gradual decrease of evaporating water droplets size is described. The results of the modeling allowed assessing the real possibilities of pre-evaporative cooling of the air in front of the heat exchange sections by water injection, identifying the influence of the air initial temperature and humidity, the size of droplets and the relative water flow rate on the efficiency of this process.
