The liquefied natural gas quality management problems

Annotation:
The liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry is one of the priority directions the Russian standardization development, within the framework of which the standards should be developed in accordance with the international principles in order to increase its competitiveness and technical development, taking into account the necessity of import substitution technologies and equipment. Today, restrictions of LNG supplies growth both to the domestic market and for exports are associated with obstacles that exist at all stages of the operational life-time cycle – from production to consumption. The technological processes of LNG production, storage, transportation and regasification determine the LNG quality that’s why the control of its component composition plays a key role. The article discusses the problem of the acceptable values discrepancies of LNG safety and quality indicators which are revealed when considering the current technical regulation documents and standards that are already in force and only entered in 2023, taking account the transition period.
