The authors of the article consider wells reconstruction, namely sidetracking drilling as a means of reducing extracted products water content on the example of West-Sikhoreiskoye field. Some specific features of the field’s section, which directly affect the designing and sidetracking, are studied. The recommended well reconstruction option suggest sidetracking using four interval profiles of the wellbore with a small inlet angle (up to 0…50 degrees). It allows optimizing the drilling process and using one cluster site for several wells, thus reducing costs significantly and improving production efficiency. The study of the cost-effectiveness of the side-tracking drilling method has revealed a number of important advantages making it attractive to oil producing companies. Firstly, side tracking drilling stimulates increase of oil production from existing wells minimizing the necessity of drilling new holes. It significantly reduces both time and financial costs for additional wells construction. Secondly, the use of sidetracking drilling method provides an opportunity of additional production from previously inaccessible areas of the formation. It is important not only for a field overall production increase, but also for oil production process optimization as a whole.
