Annotation:
In our country, along with multi-threaded gas pipeline systems, there are also single-threaded gas pipelines. When repairing the latter ones, there logically arises a question of stopping gas transportation for the period of repair work. After the introduction of the Urban Planning Code, this problem becomes more relevant. The problem successful solution required development of a technology that envisages opening of its sections in a chessboard order with alternation of opened sections of pipes and pipe segments remaining in the ground. All technological repair processes are carried out simultaneously in various sections of the main gas pipeline within 1…2 km. The authors of the article consider the issues pertaining to stress-strain state and stability of pipelines open sections. Recommendations are given on the formation of open areas and on the specifics of the repair work technology. The authors of the article note that such a flow-through repair technology allows preserving the areas with potentially dangerous defects in order to repair them in future with a short stop of the gas pipeline. An important role in the article is given to the issues of inspection of the insulation coating technical state, on the results of an integrated assessment of which the possibility of performing work under gas pressure depends. In conclusion, it was noted that a number of southern gas pipelines were repaired without stopping gas transportation, thereby providing heat and electricity to enterprises and residents of the region.
