Annotation:
Repair of defective sections of the linear part of the main gas pipelines using strengthening couplings is an important aspect of ensuring the safe operation of the gas transmission system. Based on the material of many years of scientific research, the authors of the article consider the problems of long-term hardening of gas transmission pipes with surface defects using strengthening structures. The method of calculating the limiting and destructive pressures is considered in detail. both for the most defective section of the pipeline and for the strengthening coupling (bandage). The proposed methods can be used to simplify the calculation of the number of layers of the strengthening coupling. Based on the generalization of the experience of using strengthening couplings, the authors of the article analyze their operational characteristics in terms of durability and give recommendations for improving this pipeline repair technology.
