Annotation:
The transition of the country's construction industry from state licensing to a system of self-regulation was an important and correct decision, which, despite many solved and still existing problems in the implementation of the institute of self-regulation, allowed the construction community to meet its obligations, set and solve tasks for the development of the construction complex of the Russian Federation. The members of the association received a wide range of additional opportunities and, at the same time, their level of responsibility to customers increased, many of whom, having appreciated this situation, recommended their contractors to join self-regulatory organizations. A striking example of this is the 15-year activity of the self-regulatory organization (SRO) "Association of Builders of Gas and Oil Complexes", some aspects of the history, achievements and work of which are discussed by the authors of this article.
