Analysis of the turbo expander qualitative characteristics in the production cycle of liquefied natural gas

Annotation:

Currently, the leading place among all hydrocarbon-containing minerals should be given to natural gas and, especially, liquefied natural gas (LNG). The quality of the equipment used at all stages of LNG production significantly determines the quality of the final product. The technological cycle of LNG production includes various compression equipment, among which the turboexpander stands out in terms of efficiency, as a key expansion device. This article analyzes the quality characteristics of the turboexpander. The analysis of standardization documents based on quality indicators has enabled the formulation of a procedural sequence for testing methodologies of the turboexpander for tightness, performance, and explosion/fire safety.
