Annotation:
Development of offshore fields is different from onshore fields in terms of implementation of the system of arrangement and preparation as well as additional restrictions on the number and location of well bottoms. For offshore conditions radial placement of horizontal wells with a large deviation from the vertical is often the only solution to bring the field (deposit) into development. The authors of the article describe the results of exploratory calculations to determine the optimal placement of horizontal wellbores in a radial development system for a real offshore field. The main idea of the article is to develop and apply a digital algorithm physically for a meaningful express model for justifying horizontal wells placement on a radial grid, which will allow avoiding hundreds of probabilistic calculations on a full-scale geological-technological reservoir model. The model is based on the analysis of parameters affecting well production characteristics and cumulative oil production for the development element as a whole.
