Evaluation of corrosion monitoring data of the main pipeline by integrated diagnostic tools

Annotation:

The authors of the article analyze the results of monitoring the metal relative electrochemical potential of the main pipeline control sections, separated from each other at a distance of more than 40 km. Monitoring was carried out using built-in technical diagnostic tools – pipeline smart elements (intelligent inserts), which allow polling measuring instruments with different frequencies. The results of comparing the time series of the modulus of deviations of the electrochemical potential measured values from the daily moving averages showed the presence of a clear correlation for the pipeline sections under consideration. Based on the data analysis, it is concluded that it is necessary to monitor the relative electrochemical potential of the metal of pipelines with a frequency of at least four times a day. It is proposed to use the daily moving average value as a diagnostic parameter of pipeline models, the primary data – for diagnosing electrochemical protection devices as well as smart elements self-diagnozing.
