Annotation:

The work of automated monitoring systems on offshore platforms nowadays is often reduced to performing only the alarm function of the platform critical state, but the scientific and technological progress of measurement sensors and data processing opens up new opportunities for transition to predictive assessment of offshore platforms technical state. Such a transition is possible only due to conceptual change of the approach to the design of automated monitoring systems, which will be aimed at the accumulation of valuable data for their application in complex models of technical state assessment. A fundamentally important role for the predictive function of monitoring systems is played by the choice of the measured parameters and the placement of measuring sensors, which should have the highest informativity in the conditions of design limitations on their amount. The authors of the article present the experience of designing an automated monitoring system for engineering structures of an offshore fixed platform, the data from which will be accumulated and analyzed for predicting assessment of their technical state. On the basis of the obtained experience, the principles that are recommended to be used when designing automated monitoring systems for offshore platforms, in particular, measurement sensors placement, have been formed.
