Annotation:

The authors of the article consider modern approaches to selecting the type of a power drive for compressor stations of main gas pipelines during their construction and reconstruction. The authors analyze the advantages and disadvantages of gas turbine and electric drives as well as the prospects for using small-capacity nuclear power plants to supply electricity to compressor stations. Particular attention is paid to the impact of irregular gas supplies on the operational efficiency of various types of drives. A methodological approach is proposed for the techno-economic evaluation of power supply options, which includes forecasting the irregularity of gas supplies using modern models, and accounting for capital and operational costs, taking into consideration the specific features of the selected drive type and the operating mode of the facility.
