The journal covers the most important scientific and industry-related issues of prospecting, exploration and development of oil fields, including methods of geological and geophysical research, comprehensive assessment of the oil and gas content of territories and local objects, geological and economic zoning, calculating reserves, predicting unconventional traps. Management of the geological exploration industry in the new conditions, legal and financial regulation of the use of natural resources, cooperation with foreign companies in the development of oil and gas resources are also discussed. Official documents of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation related to these issues are published.
The journal publishes information on the most important results of prospecting and exploration work in Russia, CIS countries and abroad; new oil and gas fields, their geological structure and exploration features; the use of new methods of processing geological and geophysical studies, their integration; the development of field geophysical methods.
A significant place is devoted to the issues of assessing the degree of influence of the main geological and physical factors on the technological indicators of the development of oil and oil and gas fields, the analysis of the effectiveness of various systems for maintaining and regulating reservoir pressure, rational well placement, stimulation of oil production from low-permeability, highly heterogeneous, and clay-containing reservoirs.
The state and trends in the development of thermal, physicochemical, gas, microbiological and wave methods of enhanced oil recovery both in Russia and abroad are covered.
