GEOLOGICAL BASIS FOR THE DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF THE CURRENT STATE OF THE "BLOCK 63" OFFSHORE FIELD DEVELOPMENT

Annotation:

The paper considers the geological structure of the “Block 63” offshore field, located in the Congo basin and extending over 600 km. The tectonic-sedimentary evolution of the basin is described, which is divided into the rift phase of the maximum opening of the basin and the marine transgressive phase, which are separated by the period of evaporites formation. The proven reserves of the "Block 63" offshore field make more than 3,5 billion barrels and 1,2 billion barrels of non-recoverable reserves. The reserves of the Tambor and the North Tambor deposits are estimated at 295 million barrels. It is assumed that these reserves will be extracted using 17 wells (10 production wells and 7 injection wells).
