Annotation:

The article presents the results of a complex approach to geological and geophysical data analysis; the main purpose of which is investigation overpressure zones in the Middle Cas-pian region water areas. Two regional zones: Maykop zone and Middle Jurassic zone of over-pressure zones are identified on the territory of study in the section of the sedimentary cover. For each of them the parameters such as the position in the section, area distribution, range of pore pressure gradient and the mechanism of formation were determined.

Based on the analysis of the systemized multidisciplinary information, the criteria of overpres-sure zones have been developed and tested by their geophysical, geological and seismic parame-ters.
