Annotation:
Natural bitumen is a valuable hydrocarbon raw material and a source of rare metals. Accumulations of bitumen in natural reservoirs create "barriers" that prevent the movement of fluids. The localization of bitumen accumulations is an urgent task in the production of hydrocarbons. The article provides a comparison of methods that allow fixing the presence of bitumen in the rock. Pyrolysis criteria are proposed that indicate the presence of bitumen and allow determining its amount in the rock.
