Environmental policies of countries in the light of the European Union decision on decarbonization

Annotation:
The development of modern requirements for the transformation and renewal of the fuel and energy complex (FEC) of countries is caused by the necessity of following the Paris Convention on Climate Change and the installation on decarbonization – a significant reduction and then a complete rejection of СО2 emissions from hydrocarbons combustion. Based on the current informational material, the article overviews the mineral resource base of Australia and the ways of its development. The ecological policy of the country and the global restructuring processes of the FEC transformation because of the new challenges are shown. Radical changes of the complex structure are necessary so that the state, having a not so high energy base, an insignificant resource of petroleum hydrocarbons (0,3 % of the world reserves), following the decisions of the European Union on decarbonization, will confidently and self-sufficiently develop in the near future and in the long term, without losing its industrial potential.
