Annotation:

The article presents the results obtained in the course of the next stage of complex researches, consistently carried out in the Caspian Sea water area, accompanied by exploration drilling on the shelf, are presented. In the presented material, the subject of the research was the Central Caspian Sea region. The stratigraphic studies complex was concentrated on bio-stratigraphic (including palynological) studies, the results of the petro-magnetic and magnetic-mineralogical structure of the section, the data on the changes in the ratios of stable isotopes 87Sr/86Sr, δ13С, δ18O were obtained by applying the method of strontium isotope chemostratigraphy. In the process of research, the age of the deposits was determined and a detailed correlation with the previously studied wells of the area was made.

The use of the integrated approach involving several stratigraphic methods based on different research principles allowed detailing and unifying the stratification scheme of the Upper Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous deposits of the region under consideration and performing their detailed correlation.
