The article is devoted to the oils genesis determination in the Upper Jurassic deposits within the western side of the Frolovskaya mega-depression and the eastern part of the Krasnoleninskiy arch as well as to the contouring of single hydrodynamically connected bodies in a complexly organized Upper Jurassic reservoir using integrated geochemical studies of organic matter and oils from wells both in well-studied areas (Middle-Nazymskaya, Galyanovskaya and Aprelskaya) and in the new license area – Lyaminskiy-16, where for the first time since 2023 an oil inflow was obtained in well 1P, which opened a section of the Upper Jurassic deposits, atypical for the Frolovskaya oil and gas territory, characterized by an increased thickness of the lower low-radiation stratum.

According to biomarkers composition and distribution, a single genetic type of oils from the Upper Jurassic deposits of the studied areas was revealed, associated with sapropelic organic matter (OM) of oil source rocks that are in conditions of the main phase of oil formation (MK1–MK2 catagenesis gradation). Differences of some molecular parameters have been established, mainly associated with different degrees of maturity of the studied oils, which is also reflected in their physicochemical properties. The obtained results of the oils molecular composition allow concluding that the structure of the Upper Jurassic reservoir is geochemically zonal, the oil-saturated bodies of which form extended unified fluid-dynamic systems within each of the fields under consideration, but separated between them, and in some cases even between blocks inside one and the same deposit (Galyanovskoye).
