The main features of the geological structure of the Sokolkinskoye oil field, which in the regional structural plan is a part of the western slope of the South Tatar arch, are presented. The structural plan of the Carboniferous system is complicated by large local uplifts that control oil deposits identified in the deposits of the Lower, Middle Carboniferous and Upper Devonian ages. In the whole, the deposit is characterized by a clear matching of structural plans for the Lower Carboniferous and Middle Carboniferous deposits. The detailed geological and field characteristics of the Tournaisian deposits, the geological reserves of which are about 50 % of the field, are given. The Tournaisian carbonates are a massive-type single reservoir, formed by the merging of various fracture systems, with a high degree of heterogeneity. The Tournaisian object is the main object in terms of the field reserves, the number of wells drilled and oil production. The development has been carried out since 1980 and the reservoir pressure maintenance system in the Tournaisian deposits was organized in 1990.

The largest number of installations for simultaneous-separate operation is used at the Tournaisian object. It is also a leader in the drilling of innovative wells: with a horizontal ending (WGE), multi-hole (MHW), with lateral branches (LBW). The conducted analysis proved the fact that the oil reserves recovery from the deposits of the Tournaisian stage of the Sokolkinskoye oil field is uneven. The area of flushed and water-flooded zones occupies more than 30 % of the total area of the oil-bearing deposits. The water-flood surface efficiency is 0,38 on the average, the average water-flooding of the product is 36,1 %. The predominant process of the Tournaisian reservoirs reserves recovery is partial water-flooding by injected and bottom water. Reservoir pressure of the development targets under consideration is lower than the initial reservoir pressure, but there is currently no tendency for its average level to fall.

The main objective of the measures taken is to increase reservoir pressure in order to avoid a decrease of oil production levels.
