Annotation:

In the Paleozoic sediments of the Pechora sea shelf, large oil deposits were discovered in the shallow water transit zone, thus indicating the high oil-and-gas potential of the area, but by now the study is generally low. The exploration and prospecting stages require conducting complex research to select zones characterized by the highest effective oil and gas saturated thicknesses and the best reservoir characteristics. In order to solve the main task, namely, resources and reserves growth, seismic survey in its various modifications is used. The article discusses the results of integrating the data of various seismic survey techniques applied in the shallow water transitional zone of the Varandey sea fields and on the adjacent land. The above-mentioned works resulted in recommending the location of Varandey-sea exploration well № 3. The structural plans and facies features of deposits of the revealed oil-and-gas-bearing Paleozoic complexes are refined in the area of the aquatic continuation of the Malozemelsko-Kolguyevskaya monocline and the Izhma-Pechorskaya syneclise of the Timan-Pechora oil-and-gas bearing province and the patterns of reservoir distribution from the Riphean to the Lower Jurassic are determined.
