Solution of some problems related to accounting seismic data during geological modeling of the Pre-Jurassic complex volcanogenic rocks

Annotation:
The most well-known objects of geological modeling in oil and gas geology are sedimentary rocks: clastic and carbonates. Geologists, who are engaged in geological modeling, have large experience in working with typical sedimentary rocks, but however, hydrocarbon pools can be accumulated in another environment. There are examples of oil deposits in volcanic rocks of many countries, including Russia. Hydrocarbon pools contained in volcanic reservoirs (deposits of non-sedimentary origin) were also revealed in the West Siberian oil- and gas-bearing basin. The authors of the article illustrate an approach to geological modeling of tuffs of the Pre-Jurassic volcanogenic complex of rocks in one of the oil fields in the Western Siberia; describe the challenges encountered by the authors while building a geological model as well as propose the solution of problems non-standard for geological modeling. Well-known static modeling tools cover most of the geologists’ requests but some geological objects demand an exclusive approach. The authors of the article give an example of software plug-in development to deal with specific tasks of static modeling.
